Biography

Karina Rikun, born in 1990 in Kazakhstan, is a creative director and set designer specializing in floral and vegetal installations. 

After her graduation in environnemental and international law, she then studied botanical science and medicinal plants at the French « école des plantes ». During 3 years, she is been trained  by different florists who taught her the techniques of floristry. 

Partnering as a creative duo with the French photographer Tom Claisse, they created the AlmaKarina Studio, which became a reference in high jewelry photography, providing visual content for brands and magazines, focusing on still life photography and video. They count amongst their clients Gucci, Van Cleef and Arpels, Cartier, and publications such as the Telegraph and Tatler magazines. 

Her approach to the work with flowers aims to explore the relationship between plants and objects in a conceptual way, trying to find a balance between abstraction and usefulness.
